Alumni

Welcome
My five years as Director of the Arts & Science Program (2000 - 2005) were beyond doubt the most consistently enjoyable of my 39 years of full-time service at McMaster University. It was therefore a great joy and honour for me to be recalled to serve again as Director for the 2010-2011 academic year while the incoming Director, Dr. Jean Wilson, was on research leave.
Midway through this one-year term we decided to embark on an update of the Program’s website, including an expansion of the alumni page. I am pleased to report that the updated website is now available and I embrace the opportunity to use this space to renew my connection with the artsci alumni community. In my previous term, thanks to Evan Jones, GRADNET was created as  the electronic network that would provide a link and strengthen ties between Arts & Science alumni and current students, staff and faculty. My hope is that this alumni page will be an effective replacement for GRADNET and become a useful medium of communication that will contribute to maintaining the community spirit  and the community of learning that are such distinctive features of the Arts & Science Program. The content of the alumni page, which is still under development,  will be expanded over time. We welcome your suggestions on the nature of the content that you would like to see.
I very much look forward to the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Arts & Science Program scheduled for September 23 - 25, 2011. I assume you will have received the ‘Keep the Date’ announcement and you should receive a formal invitation by the end of June if the Alumni Office and/or the Arts & Science Program has your email and mailing addresses. Please stay in touch by providing this information, if you have not already done so.
I look forward to seeing many of you in September.

Until then, my best wishes to all.
Dr. Gary Warner
